TRANSIT@school
A Comenius-Project with schools in France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany and Poland
“TRANSIT@school” is based on „TRANSIT“ by Jörg Heieck (photographer and teacher in Kaiserslautern/D). In 2005 he undertook a journey along 50°N from the Normandy to Poland. He documented it with impressive panoramic photos.
Therefore, all partner schools of the project are situated nearly on 50°N (between 49° 22’ and 50° 19’ N).
Each school selects eight photographical works. From this arises the exhibition "TRANSIT@school", which probably will be shown in 2012 in Clervaux/L on 50°N, in collaboration with "The Family of Man" and "Clervaux-cité de l'image”. An independent jury will choose one overall winner for each category. The awardees will be invited to the final meeting during this exhibition. This exhibition will be conceived as a touring exhibition, so that it can be in TRANSIT to all partners and interested institutions.
A second part of the project is aligned to the observation of the sun (day length, solar attitude). This will allow an introduction to astronomical navigation.
